Get it Scrapped | The Hungry Jpeg

Hi everyone!
Salut tout le monde!

You might have seen this on Instagram already, yesterday I was taking part of an article over at Get it Scrapped about ideas for designing with fonts on your layouts. I received the huge bundle of fonts that you can find at The Hungry JPEG for a very low price this month (you still have 11 days to take advantage of the special price, go check it out!!) and I got to create 3 layouts that would include fonts.

Playing with font is so awesome! To me it's a customizable embellishment. I had many ideas but I chose 3. Since at Get it Scrapped I only share the main picture of my pages, I wanted to use my blog to show you the details and maybe some more explanations about my process, as I always do.

As I said it in the article, what inspired me a lot in this bundle were the images representing the fonts. A lot of them were represented in white over a watercolor wash background and that gave me the idea of doing just that: a watercolor background with a white word over it. Also, some of the fonts were really elegant and gave me the urge to scrapbook my wedding dress!

So I started with a lilac wash on watercolor paper since lilac was our wedding color. I painted in a circle making sure that I left some white spaces. I really love the look of the strokes and puddles of watercolor. I then stitched all around with silver thread.

This little bouquet of flower is one of the illustrations offered with one of the fonts. I had to work quite a bit to create the white contour. I wish I'd be better with Photoshop. I finally made it to print and cut the flowers with my Silhouette. I tied the little bouquet with some tiny staples and added a little bit of pink with this flair.

My title was also cut with my Silhouette in regular white cardstock. Lots of fonts in the bundle are GREAT for welding, just like this one.

When I saw the fonts that were outlined, I immediately thought embroidery. And here's my layout.

So I printed on a 12x12 white paper my title in a very pale grey and I stitched along the lines, changing  the color of thread so that I have a rainbow.

At the top of my page I added 4 rectangles. One of them is a photo, 2 of them are mated photos, and the fourth one is a mini file-folder containing my journaling.

At the very very end I added some mini stamped stars.

For my third page, I've cut out a word in a watercolor paper on which I had added a nice warm palette of colors.

And I used the small illustrations coming with the font to create a one of a kind patterned paper.

There you go, I gotta run!!
Alors voilà :)

Talk to you soon!
On se revoit bientôt!!
